It took a full year to organize the 2018 Stonebridge Wasaga Beach Blues Festival and then, just like that it’s over in a flash.
I would like to personally thank the Town of Wasaga Beach, our many volunteers for rolling up their sleeves and helping us make this event such a success. There were about sixty of you who worked tirelessly, never complaining, to enhance our attendees experience. Without this family of volunteers, there simply wouldn’t be a festival.
I would also like to thank our core planning committee; Kathy Mulgrew (Chair), Heather Pritchard (Logistics) and Colleen Bannerman (Financial Supervisor and Accounting).
Thanks also go out to, Adriana Andrade (Social Media) and Kim Sopinka (Webmaster), the voice of the Stonebridge Wasaga Beach Blues festival, emcee Harold Bickerstaff, Dennis McAndrew for his role in our “Blues in Schools” program and the “Junior Jam”, the entire ACS crew for providing outstanding audio/visual production, Gabor Szepesi of Backline Plus for providing our artists with top notch professional stage gear, Mark Crowe of the Stonebridge Town Centre, TD Canada Trust and all of our many sponsors.
Thanks for great support from Dianna Chycki and Joe Bickerstaff of BEACHbooster Media Group, John Eaton from 95.1 the PEAK FM, Ben McCully of 97.7 the BEACH, Melany Case from Skydive Wasaga Beach, Patrick Monaghan from CANOE 100.9 FM, the Wasaga Beach Brewing Company, the Stilt Guys for sharing the joy and of course, all of this year’s fabulous performers.
According to statistics taken from our 2018 survey, attendance was just under 4,000. Of those in attendance approximately 1/3 were 1st timers who said they would be back next year. The festival was rated 9 and 10 out of 10 for this year’s entertainment lineup.
Now we begin planning our 2019 Stonebridge Wasaga Beach Blues Festival. We look forward to seeing you next September 13th, 14th and 15th.
